Worked on Fully Fifty-Fifty all day. The hardest part of this project is that I get so lost in research and start dreaming up all manner of things I want to write that it takes me forever to actually write anything! Finally uploaded the post early evening.
Brain download & planning in the morning, then in the afternoon headed off to teach paddleboard yoga for the first time in over two years!! Loved getting back out on the water again, fingers crossed will get to do more soon.
I WENT TO THE THEATRE!!! For the first time in well over two years! Earlier this summer, I started thinking about all the stuff I’d missed and dreamt of in lockdown — some of which I hadn’t actually done for ages, lockdown or no lockdown! So I made a “Grab Life” bucket list and I’ve been working through it.
Top of the list was THEATRE, so this afternoon headed off to Oran Mor to see A Play, a Pie and a Pint’s production of Joke. It was absolutely brilliant! Really well written, funny and thought-provoking with a fab cast — and I thoroughly enjoyed my pie and my pint as well 🙂
Got me all excited about theatre generally again. There’s a film script of mine which I love but is going to be really difficult to produce in Scotland… I wonder if doing it as a play is something?! Worth a bit of thought…
Had kind of planned on that being my day, but I came out the theatre to a message from a producer I’m working with on a TV pitch, so ended up belting home to do some work on that til bedtime!
Urgh today was spent doing one of my least favourite things: sending out queries. (Basically, I’ve written a thing, any chance you want to buy it/help me sell it?!) It’s something I’ve mostly avoided for a few years, but I’m in over my head with a couple of projects and I would be daft not to try to get the support that they deserve (and I need!) It shouldn’t really feel like going cap in hand, because it’s offering people an opportunity as much as anything… but it still does! Gritted my teeth, shot a few out… now we shall see.
More work on the TV pitch and also He Did and He Didn’t for Fully Fifty-Fifty. I was sore as anything from aerial hoop the night before, so forced myself to go for a big walk in the afternoon to try to wake up, then ended up having a meeting on the TV project which was fab but also annoying as I’d planned to have some friends round for a (wee) leaf bonfire. Put the bonfire off for a couple of weeks, then collapsed on the couch after a satisfying week!!
